I Like Pink Stuff

TW: rape, ableism, ableist slurs. Watching Law and Order:

• Plot: Over the course of the episode it comes out that three boys had sex with a developmentally disabled girl who has ''the mind of a ten year old". The case goes to court.
• Defense: It wasn't rape because she consented and the boys didn't know she was developmentally challenged.
• Prosecution (AKA The Good Guys): It was rape because she didn't know what she was doing!
• Boys: We didn't know she wasn't normal.
• Prosecution: They called her a retard! Doctor, please explain to the court how she is retarded and a retard and it was bad of them to call her a retard because it meant that they knew she was retarded and therefore she could not have consented.
• Show: Use the R-word a million billion times to refer to her.
• Boys: Okay, we knew she was retarded all along.
• Judge (Accompanied by ~eeeeevil~ music and set up as being a bad person for it) : No case. She was consenting and knew what she was doing.
• Prosecution: We're appealing again! This is WRONG!!!
• Girl: I knew what I was doing. I may not be like everyone else but I have desires and I liked them and I wanted to have sex with them. I consented to having sex with them.
• Judge: So you are saying that it was consensual and you don't regret it and they didn't rape you?
• Girl: That's right. It felt good and I want to have more sex sometime.
• Judge: I'm throwing the case out. Clearly it wasn't rape.
• Girl: Yep.
• Boys: Yep.
• Girl's father: I respect my daughter's dignity and right to consent and therefore will not pursue any further action against the boys. I may not agree with her but I refuse to treat her like an invalid.
• Prosecution: .... SHE IS A RETARD SKNSDNKJSBFLKSJFSLDFNSLDFN THIS IS WROOOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!!!1!
• Show: The prosecution are the good guys and those boys are heinous and the judge is an evil bastard and you should all resent them and feel bad for that poor poor girl for being manipulated because she couldn't possibly know better.
• Probably 90% of the people who watched the show: We agree and those boys are horrible and evil!
• Me: .... Sometimes I fucking hate you, show.
