Designers have created the world’s first knife with a heated blade to solve the age old problem of cold butter not spreading properly on bread. The knife heats to 41.8 degrees Celsius after research found that is the optimum temperature to spread butter. A button on the handle activates the battery operated heating element and a flashing LED indicates it is on.

I mean, or you could just leave your butter out of the fridge??

That seems like a simple option until you have a heatwave and realize your butter has completely melted and your kitchen surface has formed a butter swamp. It happened to me once.

I kind of really want this. 

I can only assume the “just leave your butter sitting out” person lives somewhere very, very temperate, because I DO leave my butter out, and most of the year it’s still too fucking cold in my flat for it to spread at all. 

And the rest of the year it is too hot and the butter is in liquid form.
